In London the sixties took hold in a similar way to San Francisco but with a flavor all their own. The bands that came up through the London scene included The Who, The Stones, Pink FLoyd, Donovan and many others. American acts came over and brought with them their scene and together an amazing few years of live music were enjoyed.
Posters from this time period in London were very intricate and flowery with a flair for paisley designs and ruffles and a somewhat bizarre sense of fashion that was so excellently mocked by Austin Powers. At the time however it was the pinnacle of cool and everyone took part. This design by famous british artist Marjke is a beautiful example of the genre.
