MIKE FRANKEL
Jethro Tull at The Fillmore East
1968
Jethro Tull is a band that defied all conventions of the
time. Led by Ian Anderson, Tull took the rock band structure and turned it upside
down by putting a flute in lead role that a guitarist would normally have filled.
They are a band that helped define the sixties.
Mike Frankel took this photograph of Ian Anderson at
The Fillmore East in 1968. It captured Anderson in full pose, crazy hair
and all. The border design was created by scottish artist Macrae.
This more traditional photograph appropriately took a moment
in the life of Jethro Tull and preserved it forever. This is a limited
edition of 750 hand numbered and signed (in the plate) by Mike Frankel
and hand signed in silver marker by MACRAE.
