The Last Show at Royal Albert Hall
The "Jimi Hendrix Experience at the Royal Albert Hall" poster comemorates the famous last concert the original group played together in England on Feb 24th 1969.
It is based on an original photograph taken by Karl Ferris, and the designer of the famous Saville Theatre concert posters. In colaboration with Karl, the border and lettering were created by the legendary poster artist Bob Masse in the style of the times.
During the summer of 1967, the Saville Theatre was THE place for live music in London. A former opera theatre, its boxes were reserved for rock royalty -- the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Donovan, Jimi Hendrix among them -- who would show up to watch other hot acts of the time.
